Weaving is an age-old, multicultural craft that promotes creativity, helps develop fine motor skills, teaches problem solving, pattern recognition, spatial awareness, planning and sequencing. Many weaving traditions come from Indigenous, African, Latin American, Asian, and other cultures. Learning about these traditions help children appreciate diverse art forms and histories.
